because how can anything negative be associated with GOD? you are god. that doesnt make you delusional or egotistical because growing up im sure we all associated god with this being outside of us who is better than us and yada yada

i do believe in god still, meaning source, but i believe that god/source gave us all His abilities. we are able to create as well as He can.

humans used to live in an epoch - lemuria / kinda atlantis until they lost their shit and became overly concerned with technology like how we are rn - where it was extremely natural to manifest. telepathy, levitation, full control of one’s body was completely normal because it is a human’s TRUE nature to be in line with divine consciousness meaning to be less dense (less concerned with the physical world)

this power hasnt left us, if it sounds too good to be true as it once did for me, it means that you havent completely let go of the conditioning that society put in you because why would the elite want you to realise your true power?

WHY STAR GUARDIAN NILAH IS CREEPIER AND WAY MORE TWISTED THAN YOU REMEMBER

First of all, i want to thank and credit  Sir Catnip III for uploading the novel on youtube. All the screenshots on this post were sourced from their videos, so again thank you Sir Catnip The Third !!!

Star guardian 2022 summer event surely added a lot of new content regarding the AU, and i couldnt be more happy that nilah took an special spotlight in it

(people will say that it’s not true but i have arguments that, in fact, nilah had a major role in the development of the novel story, however people are not prepared for it nor it’s the topic i wanna discuss here)

Before i dive further in my analysis, i need to refresh your minds (or bring up the evidences to the table)

in the second chapter of the novel, it was revealed to us the nature of Fiddlesticks and what happened to Harp

[context: Syndra is describing what happened to Harp after she fell]

basically, Harp fell and due to an external force, she turned into the monster Fiddlestick we know

(also notice how Fiddlesticks battle act goes by its formal title as part of The Ten, which ashlesh makes part as well)

proceeding with the analysis, now looking at what nilah exposed at the novel

nilah directly affirms that fiddle and ashlesh are alike... they are both fallen guardians

ok so... in short, nilah carries a trapped undead guardian in her waist....

ok now i will indulge myself with THEORY AND HEADCANON MOMENT, so from now on be aware that it’s gonna be my interpretations and imagination at play

the whole thing goes further: nilah also says that ashlesh is the star of joy - a pretender star, to be more specific (notice how zoe, despite being a pretender star, is also called star guardian, confirming again that ashlesh was once a common guardian)

this is something oddly interesting, since fiddle is just described as a monster and the only star related directly to it is zoe

this could put ashlesh higher on the hierarchy “can this thing destroy the universe without sweating?”; fiddle is presented much more like a local thread going after tasty star guardians, ashlesh could devour the universe if free

now let’s analise ashlesh situation: is a star guardian (very happy very cool), gets corrupted/crazy, becomes a pretender star, ultimately falls BUT its existence and influence goes on...

what if ashlesh had a different motivation? what if ashlesh was too obsessed to die...? 

i mean, zoe lives in anarchy, refusing to follow any rules 

fiddlesticks represents the fear the guardians have to face

as fiddle represents its main thematic from the base runeterra, so do ashlesh; “[it pushes joy to its hideous extremes, feeding on the dark, inverted aspects of the emotion, like delirium and obsession]”

ashlesh could be, in this case to make things more interesting, an counterpart for zoe; if zoe respects no rule, then ashlesh follows everything to a literal point 

as star guardian it values discipline, discipline spirals into obsession, it wants to serve the First Star so bad it starts to hallucinate, until it is so deep in a state of delirium that it begins to consume everything, without discrimination...

ashlesh is a very interesting character in the SG universe because we have no information about it unlike fiddlesticks, yet we can affirm that, once, ashlesh was just another teenager, living the best of their lives...and then the oath happened

as for last thought, i imagine how things would develop if ashlesh was originally part of nilah’s team? some will say that this is not possible (i actually have a theory explaining this) but im here for the sadness and angst ehehehe...

might be some controversial takes about Hazbin/Helluva under the cut but honestly I really don't know what the popular consensus is about any of it. I'm gonna try to keep these short but here's a list of thoughts I have so far.

-I'm interested in where Hazbin could go. The concept of rehabilitation for sinners and how the meaning of rehabilitation could change, as well as the unbalanced power of heaven vs. hell and who are the true sinners is very interesting.

-I don't find myself laughing at the humor of any of these shows. It feels like the kind of humor that's only supposed to shock you with the vulgarity. Which is only really funny to a teenager, not the intended adult audience.

-the music is hit or miss, mostly miss. The Hazbin pilot songs I particularly did not enjoy.

-the animation and design are nice, tho I'm not really sure who to credit with that, as I have been made aware that Vivziepop tends to take "inspiration" from artists in an informal manner.

-really do not like the sound design. The noises are obnoxious, the volumes are all over the place and there have been times where I cannot hear what characters are saying.

-voice acting is pretty good. I understand that fans got very upset when a lot of the actors for Hazbin had to be recast with union members and tbh I'm not bothered by that. Support unions.

-im worried about what they're gonna do with Vaggie. She's starting out as the partner to the main character but she's also been established as the "PC" character who annoys the fan favorites Angel Dust and Alastor.

-I'm not at all interested in Alastor, he looks like a satire of the Vivziepop style.

-Angel Dust is interesting, and I'm not too bothered by seeing an openly and overtly queer character, even if it's not sanitized. I am a little concerned about how quickly his character depth was revealed long before the first season is even finished. Could Viv really not wait to talk about Angel Dust that much? What will be left to explore in the show?

-also like, we are getting a LOT of content for Hazbin including a spinoff already on its second season, tons of merch and lots of droplets of information that end up on the wiki BEFORE the first season of the show is even out and it doesn't feel right, like the crew is celebrating the success of the show before its even out. Weird stuff. Not sure if it's gonna bite them in the ass yet.

-the Helluva pilot was not enjoyable at all and I didn't actually start watching the show until the second season

(here comes the big one)

-I actually don't mind too much what's being done with Stolas. It makes sense that a person with very few friends and trapped in an arranged marriage with a cruel partner would make the decisions that he has, regardless of whether or not they are the right ones.

-What I am concerned with is if the story with Stolas was planned from the beginning, or if it was decided later on to recontextualize his character when they crew decided they liked Stolas more than as just a cutaway gag in the pilot.

-Moxxie and Millie are... okay. On one hand it's nice to see throughout everything Moxxie has been through, as well as literally being in Hell, he still retains his kindness, empathy and love for his wife. Millie is... okay, but I get the feeling that she exists to keep Moxxie from becoming the series punching bag, like as compensation. Or a way to inject some "wholesomeness" into our main characters. I keep hearing that a Millie episode is on the way, but I don't know what really to expect.

-as a furry/scalie who isn't into canine anthros, I'm not into Loona.

-I'm interested in seeing more of what the other rings of Hell look like, tho I fear that the Gluttony ring is going to be filled with fatphobic jokes.

-The action scenes are usually pretty cool, tho with the Vivziepop style it can be a bit eye-strain-y for me.

-vivziepop stans are scary. seeing them jump to her defense whenever she faces a major criticism is frustrating and it only incites a bigger wave of criticism. see this post if you want my extended thoughts about it.

-this series is being produced, written and released in a way I don't think I've ever seen so I'm gonna try to keep an open mind about it, but that does not mean I'm gonna enjoy it blindly NOR am I gonna nitpick it. I'm gonna keep up with it and maybe share more of my thoughts, tagged accordingly and under 'read more' lines.

Starring: Eddie Munson x Blind!Reader

Warning: blindness, fluff, no real warnings? Oh wait, drugs.

Being blind was something you despised. You hated being blind as it only gave you problems. You didn't have many friends, and your family members often tripped you just for fun.

It was a pretty usual day at Hawkins High School until you ran into someone. Eddie 'the freak' Munson. The two of you quickly became friends, and he helped you around with your blind person cane. Made sure no one tripped you at school, and he helped you read in class.

It had been a year since you met him.

"Eddie, y'know since I'm blind.. could you just.. describe what you look like?" You asked. The two of you were in his van smoking weed again. "Huh... Uh... Well. I'm a white guy with long hair, and I wear all black. Also, my voice sounds pretty sexy if I do say so myself." Eddie said, not sure what else to say.

"Yeah, but I mean like, colors 'n shit.. and is your hair straight? Curly?"

"Oh, right, so, uh. I have dark brown hair, curly as hell." Eddie responded, feeling a bit stupid after forgetting about your blindness. "Cool.. what about me?"

"Oh, right, uh. Your hair is also curly but it's more brownish red, uh, you have glasses and some braces. Your skin is pasty white. You're kinda short, uh, but it ain't too noticeable. Oh, and your voice is also great, but I think you already knew that." Eddie said, taking a drag of his joint. You laughed a little at the small comments about your height. "Okay."

"Oh, one more thing..." Eddie said, stopping. "Yeah?"

"I uh, kinda have a thing for you... But it's fine if you don't like me back." Eddie said, going a slight shade of pink. "Your voice tells me you're either embarrassed or nervous." You paused. "You don't have to be."

"Wait, really? I mean, uh, I was going to ask if you... Maybe wanted to go out with me, if that's okay?" Eddie said, still a slight shade of red. "Yeah, sure.. just remember to not take me to the movies or something like that.."

"Im not that stupid!" Eddie exclaimed. “You sure?” You teased with a small smile. "Yeah. I might be, uh, an idiot, but I'm not that stupid." Eddie said smiling, blushing a bit. You laughed a little. “And you’re really, really sure that you aren’t stupid enough to take me to the movies?”

"I'll never take you to the movies, I promise." Eddie said, making a finger gun and a finger snap. “I know you well enough to be aware that you’re making finger guns at me, but you’re to forgetting to remember that I can’t see, even after we just discussed it.” You laughed. "Crap, I did it again, didn't I?" Eddie laughed, feeling quite embarrassed. “Seems like it.” You laughed.

"I'm so sorry. Guess the pot is making me kinda stupid." Eddie said, laughing still feeling a bit embarrassed. “Not a first. Not for you at least.”

"Huh? You don't mean- Wait, you mean to say-?" Eddie asked, his face going a light shade of red. “I said that its not a first that the pot is making you a little stupid.”

"Oh, good! I thought you were calling me stupid-" Eddie paused, now with a smile on his face. "Wait, you think I'm stupid?"

You laughed. “Sometimes, but not all the time.”

"Huh, well that's a relief... Wait, uh, you've thought I was stupid before?" Eddie asked, blushing again. “I dont think you’re stupid in general, just that you’ve done stupid things.. quite often”

"Fair enough, yeah." Eddie said, smiling and taking another hit of his joint. You laughed and took a hit as he passed it over to you.

"So, uh, do you think you're smart?" Eddie asked, taking another hit of the joint. “I know how to read braille and even know sign language, and I’m blind.. yes, I’m calling myself smart.”

"That's true, yeah." Eddie said, nodding slightly. "Oh, speaking of. Have you ever heard of the band Sabaton?" He asked, randomly changing the subject. “You’ve only shown me like a gazillion times.” You smiled.

"Oh... Yeah, I guess I have done that, huh?" Eddie laughed, running his hand through his long hair and sighing. “Yeah.. and Metallica.. and AC/DC.. aaand iron maiden.. basically every rock and metal band you love.”

"Damn, I'm way more predictable than I thought. You think you're smart, guess you're a smart ass, too." Eddie laughed. “Too? Excuse me, mr. I call myself smart while stoned”

"Well then, Miss. Smart-ass, what, you want me to call you stupid then?" Eddie chuckled, blowing out a haze of smoke. “No, but you shouldn’t call yourself smart if you’re completely stoned.”

"True, you wanna know something?" Eddie said, smiling as he paused. “Sure?”

"I'm not even high." Eddie blurted out, giggling slightly. “Oh, but i can hear the difference of your sober voice and your stoned voice” you giggled. “Explain that”

"Uh... Uhhh... Wait, you can hear the difference? Shoot, what does the stoned version of me sound like?"

“Stupid and high pitched”

"Well, you're right on the stupid part, but it's not high-pitched, you just imagined that." Eddie said, giggling. “Nah, you sound high pitched compared to your sober voice”

"Oh yeah? Then describe what I sound like when I'm sober." Eddie asked, smirking slightly. “Your voice is more husky and low, kinda sexy… -as some people might say.”

Eddie went a light shade of red after hearing your last few words. "Ah... Who says that? I gotta know." He asked smiling slightly. “N.. no, I’m not telling you who thinks your voice sounds hotter than Master Of Puppets”

Eddie smiled widely, chuckling as he took another drag of his joint. "Okay, that joke was actually pretty good, but I gotta know!"

“Not telling!”

"Oh, really? Then guess who gets their joint privileges taken away?" Eddie asked, his smile slowly turning into a smirk. “Heyyyy!”

"What, too far?" Eddie chuckled, "Well, you gotta tell me the person's name now, or you're not getting your weed back."

You groaned. “Fine, i do..” voice barely a whisper. "Speak up, didn't quite hear that." Eddie chuckled.

“I-i do..”

"Hm? Still didn't quite catch that." Eddie chuckled, smiling widely. “I think your voice is sexy, okay!” You said a little louder than you should’ve.

Eddie went a dark shade of pink as he looked down, not expecting a confession like that. "You... You do?" He asked, his voice a soft whisper.

"Yeah.." You answered, cheeks slightly more pink. "Uh, got it. Thank you... What do blind people like to do for dates, out of curiosity?" Eddie asked, trying to change the subject.

"Coffee dates, for example.. late night cuddling.. cat cafés are a personal favorite along with late night cuddles.."

"Uh... Cat cafes? Oh, that sounds like- Wait, did you say... Cuddling?" Eddie asked, his face slightly more red than before.

"Yeah? For example, cuddling while the other person reads or tells stories or something.."

"Oh. My. God. You just... Made that sound so romantic." Eddie said, his face even more red. "It is! And it's so comfy for me too, cause I get to just lay there all smuggled up with them while they read me something.. maybe they'll even let me fall asleep, that's even better."

"And, uh. If I were to do something like read to you, while you were snuggled up in my arms, you'd like that?" Eddie asked smiling, blushing even more. "Obviously." You smiled.

"Oh my god that actually sounds really amazing-" Eddie said, before pausing. "I uh, really, I mean like REALLY want to do that with you." He finished, now as red as a tomato.

"Come on then, guide my blind-ass to your room." You held your hand out in front of you, not towards him because he was beside you and you. Are. Blind.

"Alright." Eddie chuckled, reaching out and helping you up. "Okay, uh, I'm gonna have to be your eyes for this part. My place is actually only a few minutes away." Eddie said, grinning like an idiot.

"Really?" You already forgot that you were in his van. "Yeah, uh, why do I feel like you forgot about that part?" Eddie chuckled, leading you outside the van. "Cause I did."

"Well, at least you admit it." Eddie chuckled, leading you down the sidewalk and to his trailer. "We're here." Eddie said, smiling. "Okay then." You kept holding his hand.

"Okay, uh, once again, I gotta warn you. I share this place with my uncle, and uh... There's, uh, there is some stuff in there that he's left around." Eddie said, blushing a bit as he fumbled for his key before unlocking the door. "Doesn't bother me, since I won't see it."

"Oh, right, I uh, guess that's true." Eddie said, chuckling and opening the door, leading you inside. "Okay, uh, come on." He said, holding his hand out for you to follow. You felt him tug on your hand slightly and you started following him. As you followed, you could feel Eddie's hand gently caressing yours as you walked toward a door near the corner of the trailer. "Okay, yeah, this is my room." He said, reaching for the doorknob.

"And hey, I know you well enough to be aware that your room is probably the messiness thing I'd ever see, if I could see."

"It's... Yeah, it's messy. And there are, uh... Some things you might notice that, uh, look kinda weird. So, uhh, just ignore those, please?" Eddie asked, blushing slightly as he opened the door to his room and motioned for you to follow. "Like what? It's not like you've got a bunch of sex toys in here.." you muttered. "And how can I not ignore it?"

"I- uh, well, you see- You know what, let's just not think about that, okay?" Eddie said, blushing even more and opening his bed side table, revealing a stash of, let's just say, adult toys.

You located his bed and slowly sat down. Eddie watched as you slowly sat down and felt a bead of sweat roll down his face. "Um, uh, you're uh, not upset at all, are you?" He asked nervously. "About what?"

"About the, uh, you know, uh, the, uh, adult funtime stuff in my bedside table." He said, his voice going a pitch higher than it usually did, as he tried to sound normal. "Y-you have that..?" You asked. "How many times are you gonna forget that I'm blind again?"

"Oh, uh, right." Eddie said, blushing more, but deciding to not explain to you why he has them. "Okay, I'm so sorry for acting like an idiot, I-I'm uh, gonna go put those away real quick." Eddie said, walking over to his bedside table and grabbing the stash he had in there.

An obvious red tint came to your cute and already pink cheeks. "Yeah.."

Eddie walked back over to you with his arms behind his back, but his face was as red as a tomato. He was silent, but you could hear his heart pounding. "Uh, you, uh, comfy in my bed?" He asked nervously, sitting beside you as he looked down.

"Uhm, yeah.." You nodded, blushing like an embarrassed teenager. Eddie smiled a little at your blush. "Okay um, what do you want to do now? We could listen to music, or... Idk..." He said, still looking down.

"You're a dungeon master, right?"

Eddie perked up at these words. "Oh, um, yes, actually. Why, uh, do you wanna play dungeons and dragons?" He asked, smiling brightly as he looked up at you.

"Well, I can't see what I'm doing.. but if you want, you could read the campaign to me?" You asked, locating his shoulder and resting your head there. Eddie looked so flustered, blushing like an idiot, but nodding slightly to your request. "I-I um, I'd love to. Do you even know what a dungeon master does?" He asked, trying to suppress his blushing.

"Makes the story and how much damage each monster has and can give?"

"Yeah... Yes, uh, that's it actually. We're just missing, uh, the rest of the group. Do... Do you want me to call some of your friends over?" He asked, still blushing, looking down at you slightly.

"Or.. we can cuddle while you read me it?"

Eddie went silent for a second, nodding slightly. "O-Okay, yeah, let's do that. Okay, uh, so, do we like, do we want blankets or anything?" He asked, blushing more, his voice going slightly higher. "Sure.. And I know you're nervous, I can hear your voice getting high pitched again.."

Eddie went a deeper shade of red, blushing more, but still nodding. "Alright, let me just get a few things ready." He chuckled nervously, moving over to his closet to grab an extra pair of blankets, putting them over you and himself as he sat down with the campaign notes.

He laid against the headboard, sitting up just enough to be comfortable and read the notes as you laid down on his chest, arms around him and his legs on each side of you.

Eddie started reading slowly out loud, blushing occasionally as he spoke. "You find yourself in a large, grassy field, surrounded on all sides by dense woods. The only sign of other people nearby, is a faint glow in the distance, coming from a light source, the light being barely enough to read by." Eddie said, glancing down and noticing your arms around him and a small smile.

After a bit, you could tell by the sound of Eddie's voice and the light outside that the story was nearly over and Eddie was preparing to read the final bits of the final battle. "So, it all comes down to this. With the king dead, all of the goblins prepare to face their fate, but then, a voice is heard from within the forest, screaming to the goblins, 'DO NOT GIVE UP, DO NOT SURRENDER!' The screams continue, until a group of people emerge from the forest and charge at the goblins, fighting to the death to keep their freedom."

Slowly, his words became blurry as you fell asleep. Peacefully on his chest, you went limp. A few seconds after you fell asleep, Eddie gently put the campaign notes down and then started to slowly stroke your hair. Eddie smiled at you as your head lay on his chest, blushing softly, knowing how close you two were, and feeling your peaceful breaths.

HI AGAIN!!! ok so admittedly delayed my watch for dis.venture but im at ep 5 now and honestly im so?!?! holy shit? the writing is so mature and realistic, like usually i dont feel bad if the eliminated character leaves but i actually got so... hurt?!!? even if i knew theyre gonna be voted off but the emotional impact they gave me made me actually hurt for them like omg? like i did not think i would actually feel so bad for grett after that phone call. everyones not a jerk... theyre all so human..... theres still so many good details i didnt mention but im sure we can agree its so good

i guess its the perfect time to say how LOW my jaw dropped when fiore did that whole 180 snap in personality - she showed her true colors AND IM HERE FOR IT. WIWIWIW OMG DONT FEEL BAD .. IM ACTUALLY SO HAPPY YOURE STILL CONTINUING IT!!! I’m surprised honestly. YEAH DISVEN.TURE CA.MP does such a GOOD JOB in writing realistic emotions and situations into their characters compared to tot.al dra.ma. It keeps going forward and gets more divided whenever it shows a situation that’s supposed to “pick a side” but it really isn’t for that case. YOULL UNDERSTAND ONCE YOULL CONTINUE BC THERES SO MUCH DRAMA IN THE LATER EPISODES.

THEY NAILED THE SUSPENSE ON THE ELIMINATIONS EVEN THO SOME OF THEM ARE PREDICTABLE? I was really sad when drew got eliminated too because of how well they portrayed a mute character— (I didn’t know red is also mute,, that’s so cool…) also what I like about the series with their representation as well 😭 I’m relieved you feel bad for Grett even tho she can be mean but she’s literally playing the game so I can’t BLAME HER as much (same goes to Fiore). For me, Grett’s development through the series is by far one of my favorites as it progresses (and one of my favorite characters) .

thinking about that bit in the s10 episode i just watched where dean (and sam but i think mostly dean) recounts john taking them to new york and how there was SO MUCH in it. everything made me feel so vindicated i love love looove when spn suddenly lines up with something ive been thinking about. so much there.

dean being 'really underage' so i was thinking like 15 (not that id even describe 15 as REALLY underage, but these are americans) and sneaking out to a sick rock venue... <33. coolest kid around i love him. i like the establishment that dean did do things like that - it both makes me feel happier for him and slightly vindicates me against the people who claim dean was more sam's parent than his brother. thats not true. sure, he raised him, but he also snuck out to go to bars and dumped sam at random places and acted like an idiot older brother. and im glad dean got to do that.

15 year old dean (or some other young dean) being intentionally gotten drunk and implied to be roofied or drugged or whatever by a bunch of girls who were immediately all over him... hello... thats AWFUL..... god he must've been such a looker and i like it when canon acknowledges that. i have this idea in my head of like. 'funny looking' kid dean who's about twelve when he suddenly graduates from funny-looking to like relentlessly beautiful by just growing perfectly into his features. dean is always so aware of the way hes percieved physically in any given situation and always uses it in this specific way, from flirting with every girl around to responding to male aggression by way of cops etc by also like fake flirting or pretending they're sexually interested in him..... i dont always know where i land on 'precanon dean did sex work' hcs but this is something that does intrigue me about it. plus the weird and very sweet protectiveness he always has about sex workers - also just watched that ep where hes like trying to talk the soul-wanting sex worker out of it. ANYWAY. and the extremely casual way dean recounts this like its just?? something that happens to him??? hello???

then dean telling john he'd embarrassed him and he hated him...... doesn't really stack with everything else we've ever heard of child/teenage dean, but it's kind of interesting to consider. i guess he was incredibly drunk/potentially drugged. also this is from dean's perspective, a dean who was intensely gone and probably barely remembers.

and then we get a classic early-seasons style moment where dean recounts something about john winchester and goes Ha! Classic dad! What a great guy! and sam's like Dude wtf?????? except sam isn't snarky anymore so he just does a Look. i mean come on dean. ten minutes ago you said 'john winchester isn't winning any parenting awards' and now you're saying 'he raised us right!'. Dude. You KNOW that is not true. sam also knows you know.

that being said. i like seeing a moment of john winchester just being... a human guy. taking his kids to new york bc they kept begging him to and seeing all the fun sights. scaring the hell out of a bunch of terrifying punk teenagers who got his teenage son drunk. its more interesting to me to think that john is, like, a decent guy, aside from the child abuse, and probably would've been a much better dad if it wasn't for the trauma and the hunting and mary's death (though. i have to say. The way he deals with it is still his character!!! Putting it all on your very young son and venting to him is still like. Not something that a hell of a lot of people would do, even if they got just as revenge-driven. i reckon that specific type of parentification/spousification would've still have happened to dean. mary would've probably done it too.). the young john we see seems like a cool guy and he has strong as hell opinions about his future self's parenting (admittedly while not knowing it's his future self, lol). i reckon, on one level, john and dean did actually really get on. that makes the awfulness of it all so much more interesting to me <3

Personal Headcanon thingy,

Sniper is Australian just as much as Superman was American.

His folks raised him as an Aussie, loved him as one, taught him as one and he never knew anything else. Hes from New Zealand sure but no one knew him there, no one cared for him there, and he never knew. I don't think that qualifies him as a Kiwi past point of origin and even then when defining origin do you think he would think of a place he only went once to meet parents who were utter strangers and had been willing to let him and everyone else go just to sit in space? Or do you think he thinks of the parents he very clearly loves and values the opinions of even when they arent aligned with him?

I was reading an older lore post of @blubushie (irl Sniper fr fr) earlier about Australium and the Piss joke and deeper lore connotations and honestly? I fucking love this. I mean, obviously anything is possible in such a wacky irreverent fictional world- Australium exists AT ALL- but setting that aside for just a moment.. not every Aussie could be a Saxton Hale and on the flip-side its at least heavily (hehe) implied that even Non-Aussies can become like him through the stuff (Classic Heavy).

People vary wildly, genetics and physiology make this stuff so much fun to think about. Im willing to bet Sniper was just 'A sickly child' to doctors and adults in his life. He was just one of the semi-rare extreme cases of a "disorder" that afflicted some Australians, making it harder for their bodies to process or know what to do with excess unprocessed Australium. Kinda like Gluten and Lactose intolerances etc.

Some have to watch their levels to ensure their body has enough time to take it in and some don't absorb enough naturally and take suppliments. Sniper wasn't, as far as I remember, ever really properly accused of not being Australian, just different. [EDIT: I'm a fool, I forgot about the MOUSTACHES. I'm not removing any of this but know going forward I'm aware of it. Check the reblogs, it was really cool!] Im sure thats not uncommon, especially when one of the pinnacles is the likes of Hale. And as far as we know its not like Mr and Mrs Mundy were like... poisoning their kid. Its not like "True Blood Aussies" are the only people who can handle it. They were just raising him as their own and that means making sure he had access to it, in whatever form he could have it.

So even then I don't see Sniper as having 'Missed out' on being Australian or that hes clearly not one because he doesn't look like Hale or punch things. I don't really like that idea. Sniper's parents are old and look fine (aside from the being dead part) but they look like... normal old people. I headcanon that Australium effects people in the specific ways of boosting certain physical and mental aspects such as, Promoting longevity (Obviously) but could also manifest in other ways too like maybe:

A slightly faster than normal healing rate.

Various minor but notable resistances to naturally occurring hazards. (venoms and and extreme heat/cold the like)

Promoting the growth of muscle and the reduction of its atrophy.

Reduced need for sleep.

Quicker mental recall.

Markedly better vision/ Hand-eye-coordination.

You get what I mean.

I don't mean these are all extremely noticeable but they are noticeable at all.

Basically, I headcanon that it doesn't actually automatically make you into this buff beat-em-up brawler who only lives to punch people because thats a bit boring and also Saxton Hale is an impressively unreliable narrator who happens to be really into punching people and anything else that breathes.

Instead I headcanon that Australia truly flourished early under the influence of Australium because of increased lifespans and abilities which allowed for a lot of wiggle room and dedication to anything a particular person might be interested in. I headcanon that they place a lot of cultural worth on Trying Stuff Till Something Sticks and finding something you Love to Do/Study.

Theres a lot of stuff and cultural norms that have become stereotypes due to how a lot of outside views shaped their self-image upon learning about Australium (Like how in America its super super common to have cishet normative ideals for ones future even in childhood) but when you're not a mean little kid anymore and you find Your Thing (or Things) it doesnt usually matter all that much what it is. Usually in adulthood the weirdest thing you can be is probably 'Not Being Into Anything' like anything at all. "You cant even tell me about one book you read that you really liked? What?"

Sniper, is a crack shot, one of the best in the business. Because its what he got good at. Because hes Australian. And they're all good at something eventually.

hey there! i love your analysis on why you think mike is already aware of his feelings. but my question is, wouldn't it also make sense for him to be behaving weirdly and doing all of that even if he's already gathered that there's something off about his relationship with el and his feelings towards will even if he doesn't know that his feelings for will are romantic? what makes you 100% sure that he's fully aware of how he feels?

yes it does make sense that he’d act weird just because he knows something is off and i think a perfect example of that is “its not my fault you dont like girls”. i dont think he was questioning his sexuality or wills sexuality at this point but he does have the idea ingrained in his head that he SHOULD have a girlfriend and not showing interest in girls at their age is bad.

there are other odd behavioral things he does in s3 but theyre different than s4. i think of s3 as the anti-mlvn season and s4 as the pro-byler season. in s3 we see some actions that can tell us that he may not be romantically interested in el but we see almost nothing in that season (behavioral wise) that tells us he is interested in will. that changes dramatically in s4. almost all of his questionable behavior in s4 is towards will and the odd behavior towards el is just a continuation of how he acted in s3 but with a much more serious tone. (im not including 1 or 2 bc i dont think any part of him was questioning his sexuality or feeling like something was off then).

in s3 most his odd behaviors are towards el. and theyre little things.

in the very beginning he doesnt let el touch him while shes kissing him.

when hes biking back el looks so happy talking to him on the walkie and mike just has this weird concentrated look on his face.

when she breaks up with him he looks like this is just an inconvenience to him, not like hes genuinely hurt.

theres also a big difference in how these odd behaviors are shown in s3 than s4. s3 usually shows it in a light, comedic way. like the first time he struggles to say he loves el to her face when hes cleaning her wound. this scene is portrayed as comedic and lighthearted. just your normal awkward teenager nervous to tell his first girlfriend that he loves her, makes sense. but then they continued that narrative in s4 and showed that it was actually a real issue in their relationship. i think that means that mike is in a much darker place because he knows how he really feels but isnt telling her the truth.

they do this again with the last kiss scene in s3. he doesnt kiss her back at all and looks completely baffled after she says he loves him. again, could easily just be an awkward teenager moment, but they made the tone much more serious in s4.

and then theres all the new questionable behavior towards will specifically that we’ve never seen before. not calling will but writing to el all the time, looking visibly nervous talking to him (airport scene, ‘cool cool’ scene), insisting that el is his girlfriend and theyre just friends. theyre not vague oddities anymore, they revolve around will.

we have seen mike stand up to homophobic bullies badmouthing will, stay with him 24/7 when he was in danger, hold his hand when he was shaking, tell him that asking to be his friend was the best thing hes ever done, and now hes scared to just hug him. he knows how he feels about him.

all that being said, i do think hes suppressed this knowledge a lot and is still in denial and trying so hard to hold onto his precious heterosexual relationship but he knows his true feelings. and i think he feels terrible for staying with el knowing this but if he did break up with el it would be like admitting/accepting that he really is queer which he does not want to do. (which is why hes the perfect victim for vecna)

ok, so the first thing is that we have to keep in mind that nobimaru is a fucking liar who intentionally does things to obfuscate his true personality, so you dont need to take how he acts as literal. in fact, a lot of how he behaves is...almost obvious in how fake or forced it is, especially in later arcs.

secondly, we do have word of god from aimoto saying that "their relationship is developing positively for both of them", (the umetaro bday qna goes more in depth with their relationship) so on that level i can at least say this isnt 100% being pulled out of my ass. it sounds insane when you look at how she describes it as compared to the manga but thats just like, how it is with nobimaru

but tldr, nobimaru fucking with people comes in 2 flavors: malicious and benign. there are occasions where he is genuinely and actively harming people and everyone involved is aware of it, like when he went to kill kaede and akagi. he was still :) and made his little quips, but you can tell from both him and the way people around him act that everyone is well fucking aware that he came here to cut the cameras

(id have to have a lot more time and space to get into nobimarus behavior and textual cues we get irt it in general but. nobimaru here is not being friendly he is ready to kill)

however, hes also just...kind of a little dickhead. the moment he allies himself with inugami + the others, he makes remarks everywhere from about inugami's suffering face, to taking up space in their travel compartment and demanding inugami go tiny because he "never imagined his long legs would backfire here!" to shaking tarouta upside down to free kabane, before making a remark that "it looks like someone shook him up and down violently, what a terrible thing to do". nobimarus just a fucking cunt. but you can start to tell when he means it good-naturedly and it can honestly tip you off to when he favors someone as opposed to characters he treats more distantly (his very professional demeanor with most of the SIU, for example) or maliciously.

so not only do we have umetaros perspective with framing like the kabedon scene and his flusteredness over nobimarus praise and eagerness to please, but we can generally glean that while nobimaru is a fucking cunt, his cuntery with umetaro isnt really done maliciously, and its an indicator that he likes umetaro more than say, hinata or kaede, whom he addresses as subordinates. nobimarus insistence on having umetaro around is another thing, as nobimaru is more than capable of completing missions solo and often would benefit from it, but he seems to just enjoy making umetaro watch him be cool. in a volume extra, the characters "types" are revealed, and nobimarus type is "someone who will fall down to hell with him", so its likely that his teasing is part of that test and umetaro, someone who can read his real feelings (which, kudos man, even im flummoxed there), can pick up on that.

however i do think something is just deeply wrong with umetaro for still being into him through all of this like how badly does he want that twink to be in Evil Fox Murder Village With Dead Men Heads As Part Of The Floral Landscaping Decor. he takes time to think about nobimarus nuts. so while they have something going on for sure just know that both of them are fucking insane for it

I MEAN i agree with the “no gender on ID” but having blood type is kinda useless and/or dangerous. even if youre a cop or a firefighter (at least here they have nametags with their ABO) if youre bleeding and it CANT wait 40 mins or so youre GONNA get an Oneg, im not about to trust a tag with a test i didnt do myself (its like 15 min to find out someones ABO).

Ive had patients with abo tags and it was wrong twice, ive had pregnant ppl on their third child who just found out they should have gotten RhoGAM bc their first test said they were Opos and just showed the results at the next pregnancies and the drs accepted it as true but when their kid needed an exchange transfusion we found out the person was actually Oneg and that almost killed the kid

the uncertainty makes the transfusion safer, imo

BUT of course, it could point out that the person who drew the blood took it from the wrong person, it could happen specially if there are multiple patients with the same name, or if the nurse isnt affiliated with the bloodbank (at least here our own techs draw the blood, but not all places are the same)

having a blood history would be useful to speed things up if you need like, 4 bags (its not really wise to waste Onegs, so we would send only the first one, maybe two depending on the bleeding), but i trust only other bloodbanks info for that, if i have access, and the following bags do NOT get distributed without the proper tests (to get an Oneg the Dr is aware of the risks of a transfusion without the tests and has to sign a term, they understand the risk but understand that the situation asks for as little time as possible)

tho! it could also be good if the person has a history of conditions like sickle cell anemia, some blood cancers, or if they in a transplant list! these people need Very Special blood and just matching their abo isnt ideal, we have over 40 subgroups of blood, the ABO is a separate (and certainly the deadliest) system we prioritize but if an O donor is a perfect match for a B+ patient theyre FOR SURE getting that O and we are marking that donor to invite to donate in case theyre needed

the one other situation i can think of is if theyre a bombay (hh) phenotype. It happens because the A and B antigens are always connected to a H antigen, but hh people dont have the H (and therefore, dont have A or B, so in OUR tests they would show up as O!) They can only receive from other hh, and theyre very rare depending on where you are >:0 So, in an emergency, if we dont have a history of the patient, we would give them Oneg and that would be very very dangerous, we are literally being misled with our tests bc they dont point out the lack of H. Because theyre so rare, we cant stock up on hh blood :( , so here the rare donors are marked as well and if we know they CANNOT get a transfusion bc of that, we advocate for alternate approaches (a little like JWs) at least until we can get in contact with those donors but other than that they could live their entire lives without knowing they have such a rare bloodtype :0

of course, im talking about my own experience, i work mainly with syckle cell and cancer patients and they regularly need transfusions, hh phenotype is something i never actually met at work, so it WOULD be useful to have these things on an ID as much as it would be to have a tattoo of drugs youre allergic to (the answer is very! very useful)

but yea, much safer to give Oneg at first than to trust a piece of paper. Donate if you can! Each donation can save up to 4 lives and we are so very grateful for our donors!

I have some thoughts (one so far) about Cater Diamond (and also I’m making things up about my favourite rizzless pathetic whiteboy of the week [its been more than a week])

Cater Diamond is a habitual liar.

Sometimes he just lies not because he’s in trouble or because someone won’t understand or be mean, he just does it because it came out of his mouth and he was cool with running with it.

With people he’s closer too, like Riddle or Trey, and probably even the light music club (pop music club? What are we going with folks?), He’ll lie, and then go “I’m tots sorry, idk why I said that? So not true, #yikes” or something and throw up his little peace sign, and then tell the truth.

But people’s he’s not close to at all he’ll just make up a lie and use it to get out of situations. He has no problem with sticking with his lies either. He’s used lies to get out of posting when he’s feeling down (“augh, guys schools been sooo hard #boooring”), he’ll use it to get out of homework (“I’ve been so distracted while painting the roses! I promise I’ll make it up!”).

He tends to be pretty good at lying, but he does have his little tells. He rubs his hair strand a little higher and rougher, his eye contact is super direct (he read a snippet online about the direct your eyes go when you’re lying and he makes sure not to look away), he tries to smile apologetically, and if he can he’ll steer clear of the person he’s lied to for a little bit. If he lies by complete accident his eyes widen like a micro fraction

That’s to say, he doesn’t mean to lie at all. But he’s so used to people pleasing that being honest about not wanting to do things is just never the first thing he thinks of, and it’s never really on the table for him. So he’ll just make up excuses to not do something.

It’s gotten him into trouble, mostly with the teachers and Riddle, and he’s aware it’s a bad habit, that he needs to break. But he just does it so instinctively, that when he realizes that he lied by accident he’s so worried that people will know he’s not being honest with them (that he’s putting up a facade) that he sort of feels like he’s gotta keep going through with it.

Plus he probably feels like it won’t matter all that much cause he thinks he’ll just leave it all behind anyways. Not like they’ll remember him let alone remember his lying, so what’s the big deal?

Cater Diamond is an accidental liar, and I believe that with like noooo evidence at all. ✌️

pokespe reread: firered & leafgreen chapter - closing thoughts! 🔥🌿

we've come to the end of FRLG! i really like this chapter. its great getting to see these guys again when they're a little older, and seeing silver interact with the kanto dexholders outside of just blue; alongside everything with him and giovanni of course. let's get into it!

first off, i think this is the first arc where there's been such a clear overarching theme. im sure if i really sat down and thought about it i could come up with something for the other chapters, but this is the first one where it's felt so obvious. that theme of course being family - specifically family meeting either for the first time or the first time in a while

we start the story with blue going to finally reunite with her parents, who she hasn't seen since she was five. giovanni and silver are both looking for each other, having been separated when silver was only two. later we find out that deoxys' has red's blood, which connects them biologically and makes deoxys want to seek him out.

and in the end, the day is saved by mew, coming to the rescue of its offspring, which mewtwo appreciates bcuz it's never really gotten to meet mew before. there's also green and professor oak. other than those two, they're all people who are biologically connected and either haven't met or have been separated for a long time.

i just think it's really cool how pervasive this theme is, and how it manifests in different forms! specifically the fact that we get that kind of relationship between humans, between pokemon, and between both. i think thats cool

sort of going off of that, i think the flashback to blue and silver escaping in the beginning is a great opener, even if it takes a while to come back. i actually didnt know until this readthrough that that story was originally its own individually published thing and not technically part of the FRLG chapter!

i think even with that in mind, it serves the purpose of reminding the reader of their backstories, which is specifically important in this arc since both of their origins are explored. it reminds you just how much they've been through and how much reuniting with their families would mean to them, which makes everything that happens with that later in the chapter hit way harder than if we were only reminded of their past in brief mentions in dialogue or whatever.

silver's character in general is really strong in this arc, you really feel for him. and like i mentioned before, it's really cool getting to see him interact with yellow and green! i like both of their dynamics with him, and i think it's especially nice to see how green and silver are on better terms compared to the end of GSC lol

going onto his dad. i really love giovanni in this chapter. i love how he's still a villain but when it comes to silver he's actually like. a good dad? and super dedicated to trying to find him again and protect him etc etc.

also with all the talk of silver becoming the future leader of team rocket, it reminded me of how in RGB giovanni initially offered red a position in team rocket as his right hand man. back then i mentioned how perhaps in a way, he was seeking to fill the void his missing son left behind, and i definitely think that's true even if he wasn't consciously aware of it.

moving on, MEWTWO!! i love seeing mewtwo work alongside red and the others, and i really like its dynamic with deoxys, im happy they got to be friends in the end. i like how mewtwo fights giovanni bcuz it doesnt want another pokemon to suffer at his hands like it did :( i just really like how mewtwo is portrayed in pokespe in general

last note on the more minor characters in this arc before i get to the more major players - yellow finally gets to be an official dexholder!! yay!!

i will say that i wish they still looked more androgynous; yamamoto definitely draws them more overtly femininely in this chapter. but at the very least we got the "for some reason, she chose to hide her identity as a girl" line in their bio which is a massive win for me. i wont elaborate lest i ramble about non-binary yellow for 5000 years again

i love them sooooo much, i love how much they care about each other ToT seeing blue and green get to actually fucking talk to each other was very much appreciated. and the scene where blue talks to red thanking him for saving her and reassuring him was sooo sweet.

i already kinda said a lot of this, but i like how green and blue react differently to red's little crisis (we'll get there in a second.) blue's been through a lot of shit, of course she wouldn't look down on red for being scared and respect his decision to just stay out of it.

meanwhile green is more hotheaded and so when red, who never gives up, decides to just give up and not even try, green of course gets frustrated. he doesn't really think red is a coward or anything, he just gets frustrated when red shuts him down without even trying to hear him out.

on the topic of red and green specifically, i LOVEEEEEEEE their dynamic in this chapter. i love how much it's shown that they are best friends and they care about each other. even with them arguing, by the end you're never led to believe they're anything other than best friends. getting to see them smile at each other and hang out (and the implication that they hang out one-on-one a lot? at least enough that yellow just assumed that red would be with green) makes me so so happy

and i loveeee how green is constantly looking out for red in this chapter. there's like 3 separate instances where red can't stand and green supports him, and just in general stuff like green always making sure he's ok......... its really really sweet i love their dynamic in this arc specifically so much

alright and now we get to the big one. ohhhh red i love you you have so many issues

red's crisis in this arc is sooooo gifted kid core. like. he's been this fantastic trainer from such a young age, he became champion, he literally brought down a crime syndicate when he was 11, etc etc.

so of course when he loses to deoxys, he immediately spirals into "oh im a failure im washed up i actually dont deserve to be a dexholder im useless lol". he does not know how to deal with failure.

and the thing is, this definitely stems from his defeat on mt moon. these feelings aren't new, this is definitely something he's thought about before and this experience was just the breaking point. being defeated on mt moon was his first big failure but this one establishes it as a "pattern" in his eyes which is why he freaks out so much.

from the way he apologizes to his pokemon afterwards, it's also very clear to me that he still has a LOT of lingering guilt about what happened on mt moon. this was already shown in GSC when he left pika behind in order to protect him; he clearly felt extremely guilty about pika getting injured on mt moon and didnt want something like that to happen again. so obviously when something like that happens again here, he gets super upset.

speaking of what happened on mt moon, him being so open to working with lorelei feels a littleeee weird to me? but to be fair they are in a tough situation where they really need to work together and red is a very nice purehearted person so. shrugs. idk i can buy that

another thing about that is how easy it is to read red as still having lasting damage from being frozen in this arc. the instance i found particularly notable was when he and green are undergoing ultima's training.

they both go through the same amount of strain, but while green is just winded, red gets exhausted to the point where he can't physically stand anymore and has to be supported by green, which lines up with his issues with standing after being frozen which were explored in GSC.

it's never actually stated that red got fully healed at mt silver technically? iirc. but i feel like thats supposed to be the implication, since sabrina sends him to the extra special spring that's supposed to work more thoroughly and quickly, and we don't see him have any more issues related to that damage - at least that are pointed out in the story itself as stemming from that. but subtle stuff like this to me reads as him still having at least some damage even after mt silver

which also can tie into his whole gifted kid mentality in this arc. (this part is more interpretation, bear with me) it's not just about his battling skills, but also him being physically weaker than he was pre-mt moon. i can imagine that that would be something that would continue to frustrate him. even if he's able to know his limits (sometimes lol), he doesn't like the fact that those limits exist in the first place, yknow? he wishes he could just be perfectly able-bodied like before and the fact that he isn't contributes to the feelings of unworthiness he struggles with during this arc.

i guess in summary, as @/sugarglider-s put it. men will literally have a breakdown on the beach about not being able to beat deoxys and therefore deem themselves worthless instead of getting a mobility aid

on a lighter note. this blank tank top is the best and gayest red has ever looked 10/10 no notes

and that's about all i have to say for FRLG!! hope they're cool with just chilling in that stone for a while, because it'll be a lil bit before we get back to them. it's EMERALD TIME baby!!!

and peach! because although she goes by Tess, (Tessa), she only does so because Trallum’s population is majority english/darmarttan speaking so there exists the issue of people with non english names selecting an ‘easier’ name for everyday use. Tess’s birth name is Táozi (桃子), meaning peach (fruit)

Stargaze/Hazy Chorus

Ishani is the only member of Spare Change to keep anything music related as her cutie mark, because she really really likes music.

Stargaze is just a combo of actual stargaze and shoegaze, because after the whole spare change thing goes south she joins a shoegaze band, which was what she wanted to play in from the start

Hazy chorus is just a guitar pedal effect but it sounds cool and imo has a similar vibe to stargaze

Ishani is a bit partial to all things existential and she would stargaze quite often as a teen
